This is on the corner by my house. After the property was sold they burned both the house and barn down, and the fire department used it for training. There's a bar right across the street with a patio--and it was packed--they advertised a "barn burning" party with specials--just for the event! They did it again when they burned the house a week later. (apparently we have nothing better to do in our town than drink and watch things on fire! lol)
That cracks me up! We once called the police because my weird next door neighbor's garage had been open for 3 days with her car in it with the door left open (and a dead battery). When she didn't answer her phone or the door we thought it only neighborly to call the cops. We then set out lawn chairs and had margaritas while we waited. I don't know what the deal was but the cop just walked into her house without knocking and came back out about 30 seconds later with a very red face and didn't want to give us any details other than "she's fine" as he sped away. Hmmm.
Amazing photo! I too have horses and freaked out when I first saw the photo! I was laughing at the end comment! It's good that firefighters get practice like this. TFS!
OMG......when I saw that picture, it set me back on my heels......I raise horses, and before I read your story, I was panic stricken for you!!! But...happy ending thank goodness!! I too like your last sentence!!!
