Best Platform Ever! But it won't be here forever... (05 March 2019)

Look, this platform is going away in the USA, so if you've been thinking about it or on the fence about it, get it now! You will not find a better platform, nor a better price. I bought the standard platform, and I bought two travel platforms.

These platforms are perfect. Open sides to fit larger projects, really well built and sturdy, priced super well, easy to clean, great to have a side for rubber stamps and a side for clear stamps (I've had no problems with either), love that my arthritic and unsteady hands can restamp without worry, the travel size fits well in limited space, love the imbedded grid in the lid and I can easily use a piece of graph paper on the base if I need (but haven't needed thus far), the lid is sturdy and doesn't bow when I add pressure, the advantages go on and on.

I am really happy I purchased the Tim Holtz stamping platforms. I would recommend them to everyone.

    A little disappointed (16 March 2019)

Ruler arrived with metal edge hanging out. Pushed it back in, but a little concerned.

    Excellent Bundle! (16 March 2019)

I bought the bundle for the excellent price. I already had both the standard and travel platforms from Tim Holtz and I wanted a second travel platform. Absolutely the best platform still available! The addition of the sentiment stamps, note cards and envelopes, and stamp pad made this a good value in a bundle set. Most definitely recommend!

    I Love This Trimmer! (16 March 2019)

I had been wanting this trimmer! Very glad I got it! Excellent cutting, very sharp, has quarter inch markings on the base as well as markings for popular card sizes, self sharpening, it totally outshines the 12 inch trimmer from Streamline that I have. For smaller than 12 inch paper, this trimmer beats them all. I wish the Tim Holtz 12 inch trimmer had quarter inch markings, but even with half inch markings, it is still on my list for a future purchase to handle cutting down 12 inch papers.

Tonic Studios Cardmaking Collection - Issue 8 Set (16 March 2019)

This is my second set purchase. Issue 7 was wonderful, but this set is even more so! I originally purchased a set because of the dies, stamps, and embossing folder and papers, and I was very pleased overall, even with the papers which seemed maybe a little thin. However, this beautiful floral and butterfly set is outstanding and I couldn't be happier! The magazine even exceeded my expectations this time around for the Issue 8 set! The paper quality even improved. This set also includes elements which can be used for cards for men, too. I think this is only a quarterly offering, but I am definitely planning on getting each new issue as they come out.

Not the Bundle I Wanted, but... (26 April 2019)

I'm glad I got this one. Really pleased with the tools that came with it, and love having the magnetic storage envelopes. The paper pack is good, too, and goes with some of my projects I've been working on. I am glad I got the Big Shot, it seems a well-built machine and I haven't had any problems using it.

Works as intended (26 April 2019)

Used for my herringbone scrap cards, and worked well.

    Highly Impressed! (08 June 2019)

I hadn't used Heidi Swapp papers before, so I wasn't sure how the quality would be. I loved the design of this collection, though, so I took a chance. I really, really like the 6x6 paper pad, it is perfect for the cards I want to make, and the paper is nice quality. It is a matte color and not glossy, but this is just right for what I wanted.

  • Verified Buyer

Nice Paper Pack (08 June 2019)

I purchased both the 12x12 and 6x6 paper packs. I had no idea what the paper quality would be, since I'd not used Heidi Swapp before, but I am very happy. The 12x12 is perfect for scrapbooking, and the 6x6 is excellent for cards. I really like this collection. The paper is mat, not glossy, and I'm happy with this.

Not Quite What I Expected (08 June 2019)

but it is a decent set of stickers. I just didn't register the 3D part. I can make them work in my project, so that's good.

  • Verified Buyer

Not At All What I was Hoping For (08 June 2019)

Not the best quality, I think. The stickers are a bit off color and have a rather wide border around them. The photo cut outs are ok, but not all that sharp. Overall, I'm not impressed.

  • Verified Buyer

    Love It! (08 June 2019)

This is perfect for the card I'm making for a relative's birthday, and plays right into an inside joke. Quality is good.

Good Little Sticker Set (08 June 2019)

I like it. I wish it was slightly larger, but it works for what I need it for and I'm happy.

Love this Card Pack (08 June 2019)

I wish it hadn't been discontinued. The quality is good and the colors have been great for several of my projects.

    Stunning Papers! (09 October 2019)

I purchases these as a gift, but I almost kept them for myself. They are really quality and stunning designs. I like the 6x6 pads are just smaller images and can be used on cards and are of the same great quality paper. I definitely recommend these papers!

Love This Paper (27 October 2019)

I really do love this paper. I like the patterns and the weight is nice, too. I like the more muted, non-traditional colors, and the cut outs are lovely.

  • Verified Buyer

    Authentique Solitude (27 October 2019)

I really love this collection. The colors are more muted and the patterns are suitable for masculine cards, as well. The weight of the paper is nice, too, leaning more the cardstock way rather than just paper. I'd certainly recommend this collection.

  • Verified Buyer

Very Nice, Paper But Not Too Thin (29 November 2019)

I tend to shy away from pads that are just more like glossy copy paper. This one, though, is heavier and not glossy, and while still not a cardstock and still a paper, it is really lovely and a good weight for adding to my cards and projects.

I really like the designs and it is a wonderful and artistic variety of black, blue, gold. Although Christmas themed, several of the papers could be used for other occasions.

It's slightly more expensive paper, but I am tempted to get a second pad, I do like it that much.

  • Verified Buyer

Very Lovely, Very Vintage (09 December 2019)

Very lovely paper. It is vintage themed. No, it's not high gloss paper, but it is very pretty. I do think it is made more for scrapbooking, but this is why I got the smaller paper pad, so I could use more pattern for cards. I like it.

  • Verified Buyer

    Really Lovely (09 December 2019)

There are some really beautiful papers in this pack. I didn't dislike any of them, and some of them are just downright gorgeous in a serene type of way. I wish the papers were heavier, but these work well nonetheless. I'm a card maker vs scrapbooking, so the smaller pads work well for me.

  • Verified Buyer

Subtle and Pretty (09 December 2019)

Nice, subtle papers that can be used for winter cards and not just a holiday card. Not necessarily "traditional" colors, but can be coordinated with so many more.

  • Verified Buyer

    Very pretty (09 December 2019)

Cara Bella papers are always nice, and tend to cover both scrapbooking and card making equally well. This pack has lovely pastel spring colors and patterns.

  • Verified Buyer

    It's Nice (09 December 2019)

There are some nice, subtle patterns in this pack. It is a good pack, but it isn't super special, and one or two of the patterns seem to be "in" this year, showing up in other companies' papers, as well. The one thing I do not like, is the "made in China" tag. I may not get more papers from this company, but I did want to give them a try.

  • Verified Buyer

Disappointed This Time (09 December 2019)

The papers are good quality, and I like the colors in this scheme, but this is definitely a pack designed for scrapbooking and not so much card making. A lot of nondescript stripes and random patterns that don't really coordinate or follow a theme. I mean, it can work for cards, but just not really sweet or hot enough for Honey & Spice.

And, another one made in China. More disappointed, maybe, in myself vs the company. I should have known. I have been trying to avoid the made in China tag.

  • Verified Buyer

    It's Ok (09 December 2019)

When I placed my last order, I wanted some nice florals and patterns in papers that weren't holiday themed. I made a mistake in picking three pads that were all from American Crafts, even though they are under different names.

This pad is a little bit better than the other two, in that there is more interest in the most of the patterns. The paper quality is good. As usual, though, the nondescript stripes and pale pages are definitely more suited for scrapbooking vs card making, and I wish there were less of them.

Then, there is the "made in China" clearly on the back that I never am able to see when selecting papers. I really am trying to stay away from products made or produced in China. Yeah, it ain't easy.

  • Verified Buyer

    Absolutely Perfect! (09 December 2019)

These Paper Tree and Paper Boutique "kits" are absolutely perfect for card makers. They come with die cut sentiments and toppers and the matching 8x8 paper pad, which is the perfect size for patterns in the paper.

The papers are very pretty, and the patterns are all interesting, whether large or small. There are a couple of pages maybe designed more for scrapbooking or mini albums vs card making, but the patterns on them could be used for cards, as well, and not just thrown into the pack as a "filler."

These packs are really well put together and the colors all match and coordinate perfectly. Paper Tree and Paper Boutique are, I believe, subsidiaries of the same company, and the paper is very good quality. They are made in the UK, and the price is great.

I am SO glad Scrapbook.com is carrying these papers, now!

  • Verified Buyer

    Good Set (09 December 2019)

I really hadn't planned on getting this set, I didn't particularly think it matched the papers in the collection, but I kept seeing places where I could use the floral stamp for subtle decoration in multiple projects. The sentiments are nice, too. And, the price is right.

    I'm happy with this purchase.

  • Verified Buyer

    Very Pretty (09 December 2019)

I really love the roses in this set, as well as the Victorian damask and border stamps.

I am a bit surprised the stamps are as thin as they are, and I am disappointed that I must cut a few of them apart.

    Price was right, though.

Nuvo - Vintage Drops - Complete Kit (14 May 2020)

New colors have come out, so this is no longer quite a complete kit, but the colors here are good.

The colors are pretty close to what my monitor shows. The Chocolate Chip is slightly darker and actually looks like milk chocolate. The Postbox Red is an interesting color. It is not red, leans slightly to the brown side, maybe, but it dries nice and is a darker vintage color of red. It is not brown. I like it. I would have liked a light yellow, a black, and an off white in this set, but I'll be fine with these.

Tim Holtz Stacked Tiles Hexagons (14 May 2020)

BoBunny Double Dot Jewels Mocha (14 May 2020)

Much bigger than I'd expected. They are beautiful, but I'll likely only use the two smaller sizes. I think they will work great for scrapbooking, but the larger dots not so much for card making.

Perfect for My Stampin' Up! Ink Pads! (23 July 2021)

Love this storage unit. I got three, they hold all my Stampin' Up! ink pads and reinkers perfectly, along with some other pads and reinkers I have, along with room for some more. I have them set up on a dresser in my spare room, and they are a godsend so that I'm not rummaging through a box I had my ink pads in, trying to find the color I wanted. The units are sturdy, and also have wall mount holes on the back. They are heavy, so will need wall studs or some other heavy duty mounting method. That is a future project for me when I finally get my craft room set up and I'm not crafting out of boxes.

Needed This for My Cosmit Shimmer Glue (23 July 2021)

I have the Cosmic Shimmer glue in a big bottle and the tip is constantly clogging. I finally gave up on the big bottle and decanted it into this smaller precision tip bottle, and it's working great!

Love These Stitched Layering Dies (23 July 2021)

I bought all the different shapes of these stitched layering dies (A2 size for the rectangles) from Paper Rose. They work perfectly, had all the shapes I wanted, and were a bit more affordable than other stitched layering dies considering the count of each package. I compared several different ones, and these are the best bang for the buck. Get all the sets, they are worth it.

    Excellent Quality (30 July 2021)

Really Happy To Have (30 July 2021)

I plan to use this "story" sentiment on the inside of pet sympathy cards. I really wanted something more than just "leave a pawprint on your heart." Or, even as the focal sentiment on the front of the card, leaving the inside free for a personal note.

    Excellent Buy! (30 July 2021)

I've been wanting triangle trays for a long time. This was a fantastic buy for 12 trays! I'll be using them for gem embellishments as well as a scoop for my embossing powders. Definitely something I may buy again.

I do not think this is 100lb heavyweight (13 October 2021)

I do not think this is 100lb heavyweight card stock. Feels identical to the 80lb I have.

It will do, it won't be wasted, but it isn't what I was looking for. Was the manufacturing changed, or did I just imagine my last pack was from here?

Nonetheless, this is good card stock and the color is true, so it will be used!

    Glad I have Them (17 October 2021)

I already had the hexagons, but I really could have used these squares last week. I was fortunate and had the opportunity to get the remaining sets, so I placed the order and they just arrived. Really handy for multiple cuts of the same size in one pass instead of many. I know the squares and rectangles can be cut easily enough without dies, but these sets are lifesavers for time and effort. I'd heard Tim Holtz say that sizzix was already getting ready to retire one or two of the earlier sets, so my order got all of them before they disappear. I'm set for now.

I wish Sizzix wouldn't retire die sets so quickly, especially nesting and layering dies, some kind of which I go to all the time. I cannot always get the dies I want based on my fixed income. I usually have to save up. Glad I got these sets.

    Just What I Needed (17 October 2021)

I was looking for a smaller tipped bottle into which I could decant some heavy duty liquid glue (Beacon 3-In-1 clear multipurpose), but didn't have the metal needle tip which would have been too small. The size and tip of this bottle are perfect. It was easy to snip the tip down when I held it up to a light to get the smallest opening possible, and it has been doing a wonderful job for me.

I would definitely recommend this bottle.

I was expecting too much (26 October 2021)

One comment I saw said these were 1/4 inch thick. They are not. 1/8 inch at best. They are sturdy enough, but very difficult to hold on to, being so thin. I wouldn't buy them again. I'll keep them, though, for when I may find myself in a pinch.

Difficult For Me (26 October 2021)

Well, it's a sturdy box. I'm not big on all the curvy aspects of it. I bought it to hold gem embellishment sheets. Good thing I ordered two, as they were on sale. My only real complaint with the box is how difficult it is for me to open and close the "latches." I have to use another tool to release them, and snapping them closed again is also difficult, and hurts my hands. They are doing the job for now.

They Are Sharp (26 October 2021)

A nice little pair of scissors, but perhaps just a little bit too small for me. My fingers do not fit well. Other than that, good scissors. And, thanks SB for having them offered for free with an order.

Does Its Job (26 October 2021)

I do not care for the dauber top, I hate that I have to apply it to the stamp directly. But, it's doing its job. I guess this is the replacement for the spray, water based cleaner, supposedly being safe for all stamps having been touted as "All-purpose cleaner." We'll see how it goes over the long run.

    I Like These Sets (26 October 2021)

The ovals Picot Petite set is nice. I bought them specifically for the ornate edging on the ovals. Just right for some of my projects. I also bought the circles, squares, and rectangles. I like that I'll be able to weave some delicate ribbons through the edging, too.

    Gorgeous Paper! (27 April 2022)

This is the first paper I've gotten from 49 and Market (along with two other designs in this colorway). I was surprised at how heavy it is. It is beautiful paper. I know it is meant more for scrapbooking, but I am a card maker and couldn't resist this paper. No regrets, I really like it.

Grip Is Not Tight Enough (29 June 2022)

I would like the tweezers, but their grip is not tight enough. I've found they do not hold an A2 panel securely enough to do heat embossing and the paper slips and can fall out. Right now, they are able to grip the stubby end pieces of my expensive (and authentic) sealing wax, so they do have a purpose in my space.

These Completed My Collection (29 June 2022)

The stacked tiles dies are all wonderful, especially if doing multiples. The hearts are a nice shape and size, and I was looking for a heart layering set. I understand the hearts are the last in this design (stacked tiles), and with these I now have all the sets. I was hooked with my first set of the hexagon stacked tiles (dies). I'm really glad I got them all, and honestly these are great starter shapes sets for anyone just starting with paper crafting - and for those veterans, too.

Love the Dies, but... (29 June 2022)

absolutely hate, hate, hate having to cut dies apart! These came hooked together, and I actually wasted paper to cut both out vs cutting apart. I ruined a good pair of jewelry pliers snips cutting dies apart, so I try to avoid any dies with this terrible "feature" that has not saved me any money over dies already separated by a company.

Other than that, the dies worked fine and suit their purpose.

PortaInk Standard Cases (29 June 2022)

This is my second set, this time in black. My first set is in white, which I bought for housing my Stampin' Up! ink pads. I bought the black set to hold Tim Holtz Oxide ink pads, and I also purchased the inserts to go in the back so the oxide pads wouldn't slip back too far and be hard to retrieve.

These PortaInk Standard Cases (both black and white) are the best storage options for ink pads I have found. They are very sturdy and hefty, don't move about or tip over, have reinker storage on top, and can be wall mounted (which I will do once my room is clean and I find the studs - these are pretty hefty and need a secure mounting method).

I have also put my StazOn, Memento, Versamark, a Scrapbook.com hybrid ink pad, and full size Ranger/Tim Holtz Archival stamp pads in these units. I have not had any problems with retrieval of the pads, and I have large hands and arthritis. I do put the pads in lengthwise front to back. They will fit lengthwise side to side, but then require the inserts to be able to fish them out. I don't have any problems with lengthwise front to back, so I'm good.

If you wonder if your ink pads will fit, measure them length/width/depth and compare to the unit measurements. I suspect these units will hold most popular ink pads, and they have optional inserts available if necessary.

Glad I Got This Set (22 August 2022)

I have not used the dies, yet, but I have used the mat and tools. They are good quality and I found working with them an ease. Definitely recommended.

I Love This Die, Except... (01 September 2022)

...it has not cut well. I thought maybe my machine was dying, or maybe just wearing out in certain spots? Or maybe the plates needed to be replaced?

I recently bought many Tim Holtz dies by Sizzix (*no* deceptive counterfeit dies from the jungle river site). In the past couple of days, I've used this Flower Field die and one of the Colorize die sets for the first time. I'm new to the Colorize line. My Big Shot apparently does not like these dies as it took me 6-8 passes through the machine to cut the shapes out of my paper, and this is so not like Sizzix.

I passed another Sizzix die through my machine (not TH branded) and it cut absolutely perfectly on the first pass. I put other brands' dies through, and all cut well. They were typically smaller dies, and some very intricate. The only thing I could not test was a different machine other than the Sizzix Big Shot I have, and I may need to look into getting a new machine. I'll keep an eye on it. One die (or two) does not a new machine make.

Regardless, I still love my Tim Holtz branded dies from Sizzix, and some I cannot replace, now, as they were discontinued and I apparently lucked into getting one of the last ones. This die is not discontinued (to my knowledge), but I'm not going through the hassle of replacement since the problem could very likely be my 3-year-old Big Shot is at fault. I have also used many Tim Holtz branded Sizzix dies in the past and have not ever had a problem.

I *do* very much recommend the Tim Holtz branded dies from Sizzix, including this one - they are unique and fun.

Best Frog Ever! (28 September 2022)

Myron is a little bit of a challenge for my shaky hands, but he is so much fun! He is the first of my new colorize sets I've used, and I enjoyed putting him together in my own colors. No regrets at all jumping into the Tim Holtz colorize sets!

Super glad I found this set! (03 October 2022)

I originally bought this set at a brick and mortar shop when I was looking for something else. This set caught my eye for a project I was currently working on, and it worked out perfectly! I've plans for it for my Christmas cards, too. I liked it well enough that I decided to buy another set as a gift for a crafty friend.

    Very Nice (03 October 2022)

I love this set. I hope it holds up well over time, since the folder and die are integrated together.

Winter Stroll by Paper Rose (04 November 2022)

This is lovely paper. It is a good weight to work with. I just wish there was more of it.

    Love This! (05 December 2022)

I love that I can use all these sentiments together as a background stamp, but I've already pulled one of the sentiments for my latest batch of Christmas cards. Stamps perfectly! If I want to use the whole lot as one background stamp, it is very easy to replace removed pieces to be able to do so with my TH platform. Happy I got this!

Beautiful Vintage Look (05 December 2022)

I'm glad these dies came out in the Vault series, since I'm just getting into Tim Holtz and previous versions are retired. I primarily wanted the Christmas sentiment and the lamp post, but I definitely see me using all of this set eventually. I really love the Victorian style of these dies!

Great for Blending in Tight Spaces! (05 December 2022)

I bought these after seeing an Amy Rysavy youtube video where they were used on a project. I have used them now, and I really like being able to blend and shade with them in small and tight spaces. They clean very easily, too (I was using Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Stampin' Up! dye inks), with just water, but I also used some very mild soap for darker colors.

Very Beautiful Results! (05 December 2022)

This is my first year using mica stains, and these holiday stains are really beautiful! I stocked up, since these particular colors won't be back until 2024 again. Great product from Ranger and Tim Holtz! Just wish I could have them available all the time, heh.

Wonderful, Shimmery Colors! (05 December 2022)

This is my first year using mica stains, and these holiday stains are really beautiful! I stocked up, since these particular colors won't be back until 2024 again, since they are alternating the sets 1 & 2 with 3 & 4. Great product from Ranger and Tim Holtz! Just wish I could have them available all the time. Now I can hardly wait to get sets 1 & 2 next year!

Distress Mica Sprays (05 December 2022)

Really enjoying these! They add a lot to my other inks when I want that extra shimmer. I have to keep myself from going overboard, sometimes, because I just love using them.

Love This Guy! (05 December 2022)

I just had to get "The Gent" dies, first because I've really started enjoying the Tim Holtz dies, second because I love the Victorian style, and most importantly because he looks like one of my friends!

    Retro Win! (05 December 2022)

I bought these to help out with some other dies I was using on a retro record player card, mostly because I didn't want to fiddle with making my own arm and controls. Honey Bee to the rescue, and I'm so glad I got these dies!

    Beautiful Sparkle! (15 December 2022)

I wasn't sold on these at first, looking at the picture or just the package doesn't show the beauty that shows up on the actual project. I do agree that I wish there were more in the package, but they are competitive with other like products. They are a lower profile than crystal style gems, which is nice, but I still like to add a piece of scrap in front of my cards when mailing for added caution. I would definitely recommend.

Tim Holtz/Sizzix Merry Moose thinlits dies (30 December 2022)

Absolutely love this set of dies! Everything cut well on the first pass. This is a moose with attitude (the good kind, of course). Was easy to fall in love with this set, especially since it is so easy to create this moose and he goes so well with so many other sets and ideas haven't stopped coming to me.

Patience Required - My Paper Piecing Nightmare (30 January 2023)

Don't get me wrong, I like these dies. I got them because I wanted to use them on a slimline card (all of them on one card) and they will barely fit (8-1/2 x 3-1/2 inch card). I may end up making a different, custom size card and envelope and paying the extra postage, I'm not sure yet.

Half a star off for paper piecing nightmare. Even with Press'N Seal, this requires a lot of patience. A lot. Did I say, "a lot?" Press'N Seal is a godsend, but this is a real task. I really wish there was also a solid die that could cut out just the shape of each building so I could cut it out as one piece to put behind the windowed piece. Ah, well. I'm getting good at paper piecing, now. If you're just going to lay the die cut buildings on a solid paper and aren't worried for "lights" (my card is a night scene), then no problem at all. Lots of shaker confetti if you like doing shakers, too. Edit, I still have my little pieces for paper piecing, but decided to leave them out for my first project.

Half a star off for not showing that these buildings have to be cut apart. I really hate cutting dies apart, there are always short - and sharp - nubs left behind that really irritate me. That probably doesn't bother most crafters, but it has deterred me in the past from buying some brands' dies, even if I think they are the next best thing in design to sliced bread. Fortunately, I recently bought a pair of cutters for this purpose, because I do want to get some of those dies.

I still like the dies, and yes I would still recommend. I just have to remember in the future to do a little bit better planning and think about what I am getting myself into for desired affect.

Paper Rose dies cut well (I have several of their layering dies that didn't come hooked all together), and I've no complaints at all in the quality of Paper Rose dies.

Absolutely Beautiful Dies (30 January 2023)

This set makes a stunning wreath!

Even looking at Sizzix's brief tutorial on how to put this wreath together, I thought it would be difficult. However, they came together easily, especially since the layers have some embossed guides. Biggest tip I found, the 5th layer of the wreath only goes on the 4th layer (no overlap to other layers), so it is even easier to line up. I made my first, and then used that one as a guide for the others I made in the same sitting.

I Love This Is One Die (30 January 2023)

Love it, Paper Rose! I like the one die. I can still cut apart the buildings, if I want, but I can also create a solid background without much difficulty. Perhaps *slightly* smaller than I would like, but I do like this die. Still a patience requiring paper piecing road, but I'm happy with this die.

Paper Rose makes great dies that cut well, and I would definitely recommend!

    A Logical Solution (03 March 2023)

I've gone absolutely crazy bulking up my dies stash with Tim Holtz/Sizzix offerings, and these organizers are a much better solution than the recycled cardboard boxes on my room floor (keeping broken down in a closet, now). I've added a second batch of these to my cart for my next order (didn't realize how many of those dies I had!).

I think the 2-set offering is good, but I still sniffle a little with current craft prices. These are comparable to any other storage solution, however, and they *fit* so yes I certainly recommend them.

It Is What I Needed (06 March 2023)

The Medium Envelope Organizer is perfect for my Stampers Anonymous and other large stamp sets. Much better than the cardboard boxes I had sitting on my floor for lack of better storage.

Editing to add: Extremely pleased to find I can fit 6x6, 6x8, 6x9 (anything 6x) in these units. My 6x6 paper pads are getting a new home.

I'll be buying more of these, definitely.
