Questions & Answers
  • I have had these brushes for a couple of months, too afraid to use them. But since I am in the COVID-19 forced self isolation, I decided to find out to break them out and give them a whirl. But first.....
Could someone here give me an idea on how to use these? I've used the oval cosmetics types brushes, but the bristles are closer together and a little bit of ink goes a long way with those. Plus I can press down on them. But these are more like paint brushes and I want to know more about how to use them before I stupidly ruin them.
Do I just lightly brush them over the Oxide pads or across the top of my new favorite ink pad (sorry Stampin Up) the Scrapbook.com Hybrid ink pads then brush them onto the cardstock? Or do I need more pressure to pull up enough ink to do the whole card? I am guessing that the points makes it easier to get into tight areas in and around a stamped image?
Please any help you can give is appreciated. These brushes aren't touching any kind of ink, paint or stain until I know for sure on how to work them.
Thank you for any help you can give me.   By: scramblinrosie (26-Mar-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Hello! The Stencil Blending Brushes give a softer, less saturated effect when used with hybrid inks, Distress Oxide inks, and others. You're also able to get a rough effect with the large bristles. • Will you be coming out with different size brushes? Similar to Nuvo or Clarity?   By: dglassmaker (24-Mar-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Hello and thank you for your question! We currently are not coming out with different size brushes similar to these Stencil Brushes. However, we do sell other brands that have different sizes. In the search bar just add "Stencil Brush" and quite a few options will appear. Hope this helps! By: Scrapbook.com (25-Mar-20) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • Do these have to be washed after each ink color or do you just brush them on a paper towel or microfiber cloth between colors?   By: tccsdebra (02-Mar-20) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • It really depends on the look you're going for. I've generally washed them in between colors as I want to ensure there's no unintended color blending. But they do seem to come pretty clean if you wipe them on a cloth/baby wipe. I usually have a damp chamois (shammy) nearby when I'm ink blending, so I'll use that between colors. It depends on the ink too - some inks will hold on and need to be washed out if you don't want them mixed on your project or ink pad. • What is the difference between using the blending foam and the blending brushes? Dont they both do the same?   By: jynett (29-Jan-19) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • You can blend Ink over larger areas using brushes with superior results.... not so much spotting or dark spots. I blend almost exclusively with brushes now By: Matahari (18-Feb-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • Blending Brushes lay down a soft layer of ink without the harsh lines that you sometimes get with blending foam. You can build the layers of ink to achieve a darker color but typically not as dark as a blending foam. It is a great alternative for people who struggle with using the blending foam and give a beautiful airbrushed look. By: Scrapbook.com (11-Mar-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • How do you clean the brushes to avoid contamination on ink pads?   By: palmettolady52 (14-Sep-18) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
    • Just swipe it a few times over a baby wipe and then let it dry. Then once in a while when you have time you can gently wash with soap and water just wash the tips where the color is and bar soap works a lot better than any other soap By: Matahari (18-Feb-19) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you!
