I know exactly how you feel girl, some of the other parents in my Aryana's class think I am a maniac at every little event...but ya know what? It's those little events I want her to know matter just as much as the big ones!! So kudos for you to capture those cute pictures!! This is so well balanced too, that filmstrips is just the right touch!!
I love these pictures! The black and white pics in the film strip are great. I love the pp you used! As far as titles... I'm not very good at coming up with them but maybe something about tradition? Ald I love the idea of putting Chinese coins etc. on the LO.
That photo strip is great! I, too, was thinking it would be cool to do the title in Chinese with an English translation below. Babelfish from Altavista might do it for you - I don't know if it'll do the characters, tho... Love your papers, as always!
Love it!!! Love the colors, the photo strip, and the circle pic. I think the coins would be cool too. I'm not sure of a title, but I do like the idea of it being both in Chinese and English; can;t wait to see the final lo :)
LOL... being an "overzealous" mom has its "rewards"... i'm sure Bruce will appreciate you for being so! ;) love these photos and the way you scrapped 'em, girl! :) as for the title, i don't know, how about "Kung Hei Fat Choy"--- do you think it's lame? LOL you may use the chinese characer that translate to it though... just my 2 cents. ;)
I love the filmstrip. It's so perfect for a layout of a school event. I'm at a loss for a clever title too. I love the colors in this. It really makes the red in the kids' shirts stand out in your main picture.
I love the design of this lo! It flows so well and is so easy on the eye! I also love the black and white pics on the negative strip! Chinese coins and tokens are a good idea too. As for the title, I think it might be cool to do a bilingual one. First the title in Chinese (maybe top left) then in English below the main pic. I love the look of Chinese symbols and writing. My mom teaches 6th grade and does an entire unit on China and the Chinese new year. She'd love to see this lo, and I'll ask her for suggestions on a title too. He will love that you were with him "every step of the way"! By the way, I love how that line goes perfectly with the main pic.
LOL, Jasmine, "overzealous" translates to active and involved mom. I love that you captured these photos, and the layout design is perfect for them. I'm horrible with titles. I did see it's Year of the Dog...?
The red pp here is actually much darker. I still have no title for this. Any suggestions? I wanted to put some Chinese coins or tokens, but I have yet to look and buy some. The negatives below is actually raised with pop dots to enable the journaling tag to be taken out with ease.
Journaling in tag: Being an overzealous mom does have its advantages. Yes, I admit I was the only parent present during your entire Chinese New Year celebration. There was another mom, but she left right away. After all, you have to admit, if I wasn't there you wouldn't have these great pictures! One day you would look back at these pages I've made for you, and I know that you'd thank me for being with you every step of the way.
