Just after Jennifer’s first Christmas, I saw a magazine advertisement that featured a baby in a huge Christmas stocking. I remember thinking to myself that “it’s too late to do this with Jennifer… some day I’ll have a grandchild, and I want to have a picture like this!”
So when Jack was born less than a month before Christmas, I was determined to find a huge Christmas stocking and put him inside it for a Christmas picture.
I searched the stores, but couldn’t find a stocking as large as I wanted. I finally settled for a plush stocking that I hoped Jack would fit into.
Jennifer and I tried to stuff him into the stocking, but it wasn’t easy! We had to strip him down to nothing but a diaper, and we finally got him in up to his armpits.
Poor little jack wailed and flailed. I took a few pictures, but he was much too upset to get a good shot. After we gave up and took him out of the stocking, I put my hand inside it and realized that the inside of that stocking was as rough as sandpaper! No wonder Jack cried! Jennifer and I were close to tears ourselves when we realized what we had put him through.
On December 31st, we took Jack to “Picture People” for his first professional photo shoot. I asked if they by chance had a huge Christmas stocking and was thrilled when they pulled out this wonderful stocking and matching cap. It was so comfy that Jack slept through the entire photo session.
