Mother's Day 2008 was the most AMAZING day Emma and Frank got me new binoculars and took me bird watching. It was the start of a tradition. Emma and Frank played at the playground while I got to go off and bird watch alone for a while. On the way to the Bird Trail I commented to Frank that I would die happy if I could see a Cedar Waxwing someday. And then, 20 minutes later there I was staring at a flock of them through my new binoculars. It was so amazing. I also saw baby Canada Geese and a Forster's Tern. And a beautiful American Avocet gently glided and landed right before me, as if it knew it was mother's day. I was glowing for days after this. I am so lucky!
