Buddy flew to the Rainbow Bridge July 15, 2006. He had been my grandma's bird and she asked me to take him when her health started to decline. Buddy had some health problems: asthma and a hole in his esophagus, which made him prone to lung infections. Normal life expectancy would be around 20, but it's amazing he made it to about 13.

I had him for about the last 5. In his prime, he was an exceptional talker. He would say, rather clearly for a cockatiel, "God loves you and so do I," "Good morning, sweetheart," which he ONLY said in the morning, and "I'm a Presbyterian. Are you a Presbyterian?" Once he matured, he pretty much quit talking, but would still wolf whistle or whistle the tune to, "Put your little foot, put your little foot, put your little foot right here." I have an audio tape of him and Grandma talking together, and you can't tell he wasn't a human. He was SO my grandma's bird.

Kit used is Cloudy Chocolate Mist, by Christy Sturm, Butternug Squash Designs.
