Someone had asked me if I would explain what this was, so I thought I'd share it as a little tutorial. Please excuse my coloring. I did this in a hurry to try to explain this technique.
First you stamp your image on white cardstock (Photo #2)
Then, stamp it again on another piece of cardstock, only this time, cut out the part you want to “spotlight” and color it in. After that, mat it to colored cardstock to give the panel emphasis. (Photo 3)
Layer the panel on the black and white image, and now you can see where you've added emphasis on your original Black & White stamped image. (Photo 1)
Don't be afraid to experiment with other shapes to frame your “spolight.” For Valentine's Day cards, use a heart shape to spotlight. You can use triangles, octagons, trapezoids….. whatever shape you want. This would give additional “interest” to your card.
ETA: I want to make sure y'all knew I didn't invent this technique. I had mentioned it on the stamping MB, and someone peamailed me for directions. Hope this helps!
