When you live on acreage out in the country, a truck isn't just a luxury - it's a necessity.

Meet Beastie, not the best truck I've ever owned - that would be his big brother Beast who was a ¾ ton crew cab, four door hauling machine.

Beastie is a little smaller - just a ½ ton, but he's got the same engine under the hood - a 5.7 V-8 hemi, which means when I turn the key, he clears his throat and says, "yes? What do you want to do today?"

My response - ANYTHING. Haul horses, go to town and pick up horse and chicken feed, go to the grocery store, go to Lowes, pull a stump out of the ground, haul the lawnmower into the repair shop, grab 50 bags of mulch for the garden, take scrap iron to the recycling center, help daughter and niece move - it's all the same to Beastie. He loves to work.

I know he's indispensable to me. DH took him to Tulsa today, and I MISSED him. The truck, not the hubby.
