My favorite part of your lo is you gorgeous smile! I also like the filmstrip and large circle. In addition, I enjoyed reading your description of the event. That's sad they are replacing the restaurant however, it's los like this that wonderfully preserve the memories!!
A super fun page...love the title work (and your explanation, LOL). A great design, and the film strip is a great addition. Really, wonderfully done. I really enjoyed reading all the journaling you wrote about it.
Terrific photos and I love the way you scrapped them. Super cool page! You and my brother would do well on vacation together; he plans every second ... drives me nuts.
Oh my this is an amazing layout. The colours of the papers match so beautifully and the photos blend as well. Love the flower cluster at the bottom and the use of the ribbon here is great. Is it glued to stay like that? I love the film strip behind the photo and the title is great with the different fonts. |There is so much to look at and admire. I cannot believe you struggled like Doreen said but the outcome - amazing. I never thought to distress the photo edges like that. Have to try that out!
I can't swear that we actually ate at 11. But I'm kind of OCD about traveling, and I have everything scheduled to the last second, so if I say, "Lunch at 11," then that's when we eat because otherwise, we'll have to wait until dinner... It's kind of a joke, but hubby really loves for me to take charge of vacation plans because I pack a whirlwind of activities into our time at whatever location we choose to visit. Usually he picks the place and I make the itinerary. It works for us.
Last summer we went to New York City in July for our 28th anniversary. Tom's cousins had a family reunion which he wanted to attend, so we did that for a couple of days, and then turned ourselves loose on the city. One of our activities was a food on foot tour of the East Side. It included a stop at Papaya King.
Papaya King is an 85 year old hot-dog chain, kind of an iconic landmark in New York, although this one on 3rd Avenue isn't the original. The steps in the front are known locally as "The Stoop." We sat there to eat our dogs and to rest our dogs as well. Walking in NYC is not for sissies!
I just read that they're tearing this structure down to build a 7 story office building. Kind of makes me sad since it was a REALLY good hot dog, but I'm sure that they'll find another location and open a new spot.
