Just a little poem I wrote for my ds. His little hands were all of 2 weeks old in this photo. We went through almost 7 years of fertility treatments to get him so I was in a pretty bitter spot in my life before he came. Journaling says: 'These little hands' You've just come into my world, but I've already begun to wonder what these little hands will do. Will they build or deconstruct? Will they add to the world or will they deduct? Will they reach for me when they're in pain? Will they ever reach away in shame? Will they heal someone or cause them strife? Will they touch me when I leave this life? These beautiful little hands can do so much. They can touch a heart or fold to pray. They can make or break any given day. In these little hands I see a brand new way. A life without bitterness. A life without pain. These little hands were sent to me to save me from my agony. My only wish for you my son is that I never intentionally damage one. For your hands are so very precious, Sam. They will help you grow. They will make you a man.
