this is so beautiful- really honest and sweet. i think it looks great- i know what you mean about the ink irl, though- we know! :) he must have felt ten feet tall when he saw this.
Tear-jerker! I love this, Sharon. It is beautiful both in composition and in sentiment. I think it was beautifully done and I can't imagine one thing that I would change. I think that you both bring light and love into this world and I am honored to know you!
Oh how I've missed Sharon's journaling and deep layouts. This one is no exception. The colors, stamping, and placement (you rocked one photo!) just add to the vintage and reminiscent feel.
Oh my goodness, this is PRECIOUS!!!!! I think the whole page is absolutely PERFECT!!!!! Love the picture, and your journaling is very touching!!!!! Love the clean design and the awesome stamping too!!!!! Great job!!!!
This page has such a beautiful classic look, making it appear as if you have a timeless love for your DH. As usual, your journaling is perfect. I love the pp, the stamp, the inking--especially around the photo, and how your handwriting complements the title font. I also love the title font which brings me to my only suggestion of thinly inking it in gold. Way to do double duty on the WCs, and a different perspective on the scrapjack!
Very, very sweet and beautiful lo! Love what you did to the photo( only one -gasp! :)) Love the meaningful pp and the way you did the title! The best part for me is the journaling- always great!
I agree with you and your crop girls about the title. This is such a sweet LO. Firstly, I love the background pp, and the whole entire meaning behind it. Love that bright orange paper, and that stamp on the left. The mat was a good way to bring out the red with the title and that stamp. The gold inking on the photo does look nice, and I'm sure is more noticable IRL. Secondly, I love the heartfelt journaling, and the fact that it made him blush. You have such a way with words, and I am glad you journal on every LO, and share it with us. This is an overall great LO and a great response to both challenges.
This is my response to both Denitza's "Scrap Your Man/Men" & "Scrapjack 'Sleepy Powers' LO" Challenges. (Link to Brenda's fab "Sleepy Powers" - http://scrapbook.com/galleries/110237/view/910201/-1/0/1.html). The matted photo isn't flush w/ the right side, there's the other side of the matte then a narrow margin that got cut off the right side of the scan. This is my 1st ever one photo 12x12 LO. The pic is from DH's Fordham's Graduate School of Social Services grad (he now works w/ emotionally disturbed kids); I have other LOs planned about the whole event (we took days off, family came in from out of state, did a bunch of fun stuff, etc) so the "who/what/where/when" will appear on the LOs before this one.
Journaling: "You amaze me – the way you love & appreciate me so sweetly. The way you make my worries melt away w/ one touch or a few words. The way you can see situations in the best possible light. The way we laugh in sync at stuff no one else understands. The way you've triumphed over hardships & achieved so much. The way you affect others w/ your empathy & kindness. The way your strength inspires others, like me, to be stronger. The way you take care of me & feel custom made for holding me. The way you bring light & love into the world. Thank you for making this world a better place. I am lucky to be your wife. I love you, Baby!"
I'm not happy w/ a few things here (eg my gold Brilliance teardrop ink pad is detached from the base so I had a difficult time w/ it & hardly had any control over the gold inking, the gold ink doesn't look as glittery, shiny & nice here as it does IRL, etc). I also tried putting the "you are" above the photo to more emulate Brenda's LO but I (& the gals at my crop) thought it looked better above the journaling. I chose the music paper because we both play music & DH recently started gigging out w/ his band, but also because he brings music to my life. Funky-scrap-quirks aside, just seeing DH blush when he saw this was worth it all!
