I had a vision. I was going to put on my apron, pull out the flour, the sugar and all my
other ingredients and help the boys make Christmas cookies. I had very good intentions. Really I did. But then we went grocery shopping. And the boys saw these boxes. Boxes
of cookies. Well, cookie dough. Boxes of cookie dough all mixed, cut up, and predecorated with snowmen and trees... Needless to say, they fell in love. “Please, Step Mom! Can we please get these?” Sigh... This was not what I had in mind... then I looked up at the sign “Sale. Buy one get one free.” Hmm... Well I guess I hadn’t signed any “from scratch” cookie conracts or anything... And wouldn’t it be kind of wrong in some way to waste money
on all those ingredients when I could, in fact, purchase these perfectly acceptable cookies
for much less? And Christmas cookies are for children, right? And these are the ones
they really want... and... and... and so... and so I bought the frickin’ cookies from a box.
