SHCG: OMG. I am so in love with this layout! It is absolutely moving on so many levels! I love the colors that you used, but it doesn't hold a candle to the fabulousness of Greg's drawings (that muffin is a good likeness?) and your journaling which I ALWAYS love. This is a spectacular repsonse to the challenge. Forgot to add, that I am totally digging the texture around the title block. What is that???? Such a great job, girlfriend!
SHCG: I love the feel of this layout. Your journaling made me smile! The only thing I would change would to straighten the title out but who knows it might just be the pic.
SHCG: I love how you preserved something that most people (myself included!) wouldn't even think about putting in a LO! The colors and simple shapes really work well with the sketches. Great job!
SHCG: Great response to the challenge! So great that you captured such a sweet memory that conveys just how endearing of a man you have. I love the felt hearts against the multi-colored polka dot and the tie-dyed pps. Adding those glitter heart stickers from your boss is sweet of you, and works somehow. The fiber is a great touch, as is including the business card, and your choice of whimsical font for the journaling. My only suggestion is to use rainbow colors for the letters in the title. The existing yellow could work well as a shadow. One more thing, you wrote that you documented the photo's source on the back of the lo. I also think your tidbits about where you acquired some of your embellishments are worth noting back there.
SHCG: Just LUV the colors! It's like we are wondering through Greg's mind on a wave of blue and there's a party going on. He would probably never think to save this experience but your page will give him a laugh in years to come.
SHCG: Great job with the challenge! I love your use of various stars, circles and stickers on this page. The simple shapes kind of mimic the quickly drawn pictures. I honestly do no have any suggestions on this page. I think you did a great job in repsonse to the challenge as well as using some items from Greg's class.
This is my response to WendyGirl's “Color Your World” Challenge to use as many colors as possible on a LO for Scrap Happenzz CG. She encouraged us to mix/match patterns & various embellies for this.
I had been wanting to scrap these hilarious drawings DH did at a symposium, this challenge seemed perfect for that!
Journaling: “You always go to various conferences for skill building & training, etc. for your job as a social worker. When you got home from this symposium in 2005, you were even cuter than usual! You told me you all were asked to express your sadness & happiness in drawings. When you showed me your 'happy' drawing, I had to crack up! I knew exactly what you drew a pic of – us relaxing in our bed massaging each other, me drawn as a little muffin, amongst our many pillows, surrounded by a dog (Miles, perhaps?), a slice of pizza & a TV with HBO on! You are so friggin' ADORABLE! Your thought processes are SO CUTE! I LOVE the way your mind works, I love how well we know each other, I love how you come across & spread happiness in my life & in the world. I LOVE YOU!!!! “
The scan doesn't capture how vibrant the felt stars, or how bling-y the fibers & heart stickers are, oh well. The stars were bought at a fraction of US priceswhile we were on vacation in the Philippines (travel AND bargain scrap stuff, gotta love it!). The drugstore heart stickers accompanied gifts from the wonderful office mgr at my old job; I thought the stickers were thoughtful & cute but I never knew if I'd ever use them on a page. I also put DH's business card from his old job, blurred out. As usual, our scanner crops off the left edge.
The photo is from a trip to Colorado Springs which we took a month after DH's symposium; I wrote that fact on the back of the LO.
