normally looks with what it looked like yesterday after the floods (and the water still hasn't gone completely down!

Hidden Journaling (on R page) Reads:
Top Left Pic: I cannot believe how high the water was on Monday, May 12, 2008. These posts that are sticking out were the only part of the bulkhead that was visible. The posts on the front pic are the same as these ones. You can also see how high the water was on the lawn.
Bottom Left Pic: The front picture is Granny's freshly mowed grass on 5/11/08. About 24 hours later at 6:30 PM on 5/12/08, that corner of freshly cut grass was completely under water. Granny said she hopes her grass lives. In the hidden pic, you can see the dock completely under water--it looks like the bench is floating. The two posts at the top of the front pic are those round things barely sticking out of the water in the hidden picture.
Bottom Right Pic:When I woke up on the morning of May 12, 2008, Granny told me to look out my window. I heard the wind blowing, but did not know that it was raining. This was the view out my window. Poppy had to tie up cathy's boat so it would not float away. The pic on the front is Cathy's boat when the tide was normal. The hidden pic of the boats was taken in the morning on 5/12/08.

Journaling (on L page) Reads:
I used the lifesaver to show the progression of the tide. The front pic was taken when the tide was low and the pole was mostly out of the water. The 9 AM pic shows the pole mostly UNDER water ant the lifesaver has been strewn on the dock. The final pic is when the water was its deepest.

Journaling Printed on Back of Page: I cannot believe how much it rained today! This morning when I woke up, the river was already over the bulkhead! Luckily our house is set back a ways away from the river, but the water completely covered the still dock and had the floating dock up so high that instead of the ramp sloping down to the floater, it was sloping upwards! The water was so high that the boats were actually floating off of the boat lifts and had to be tied up so they would not float away. We also saw a boat floating down the river; it must have gotten loose with the high winds. Among the debris was also a yellow paddle. The worst part of the storm (for me) was the flooding on this one part of the road--the curve right before Crowley's Landing--the river spills over onto the road so that when it was almost high tide (and I was coming home) there was about 2 feet of water...I didn't know what to do, so I drove through it. I swear I had a miniature panic attack. My car almost stalled twice! I can still feel the tension just thinking about it. Next time I will definitely take the road that goes around it--even though it is 8 miles out of the way. We were very lucky that all we had was some flooding and some wayward ships. They were closing down major highways to the islands, like Atlantic City and Margate, because the roads were too flooded. If I would have been at work in the evening, I would have been stuck there. I would think the roads would be open by now since the tide went out, but there will be another really high "high tide" tonight (3AM) and tomorrow.

I found it slightly comical that when I woke up this morning and saw the flooding outside, my first thought was to get the camera because this would make a great scrapbook page! But then reason over took me and I went to the bathroom washed up and had breakfast. But by the time I got out to take pictures the tide had started to go out :( lucky for me when I came home tonight there was even worse flooding for me to take pictures of...I can laugh about it because no one was hurt and so far there hasn't been any property damage (for us).

SORRY FOR THE LONG JOURNALING!
