This is an absolutely great layout! I Love the idea of using the photo of the flip flops themselves, they seem to tell the story of where you've been and how you got there. I like your idea of using an acrylic sealer after the glitter--I've never done that. Thanks for the detailed description.
I love that flower border. Sometimes my scans work and sometimes they don't. If I'm not satisfied, I'll take a picture of the layout and use the better image.
This is the layout I made to open my Assateague Island. Those are my flip flops in the picture ($8.50 at payless). Man, my feet look huge when the picture is blown up to 5x7. Anyways, it's a pretty straightforward layout. To conserve paper I cut my mat out of the back of my cardstock, where the patterned paper hides it. The flowers are stamped with mod podge on a foam stamp and then glittered, then sealed with acrylic sealer. I wasn't thinking how thin my favorite pen was when I tried to write on patterned paper, but my real layout looks an awful lot better than my scan (my scans are always bad... I think my scanner is only 150 dpi).
