Wow Peggy, you've really become quite the artist. I can't believe how far you've come since you first came onto the site. I just love all your work and you've inspired me to get going again. I'm going to try anothet LO this week-end.
How absolutely beautiful!! Wonderful stitching and a great use of materials. But the photos are the most precious of all - I agree with you, the last picture of Chloë is the best! :-) And congratulations on the Oct. Keep Me In Stitches Challenge - you are so talented, my friend! Hope all is well with you and yours! ~Blessings~
This is so beautiful! I love the three photos and the colors you used with the b/w are perfect! I also love those leaves, very creative and pretty. Amazing work!
I love how you give the details of what you did here. I think the stitched leaves are awesome and the one on the left, stain or no stain, really balances the page out. And you are SO creative to use other things, like cereal boxes, etc for your pages. I love doing that too! And I see why you like the bottom picture the best, it's because she's more relaxed and natural in it, rather than posing. Captured moments like that are the BEST. And usually who has time for all the posing anyway, I just like to keep my camera handy and snap at random, usually without my grandkids (fav subject) knowing it. Wonderful page!
Wow, Peggy, this is just beautiful!!! I LOVE the stitched leaves- you should definately enter this in the stitching challenge!! Love the little birdie, the branches, and the title! And, of course, the photos are fabulous!! Straight to my faves! Awesome work, girl!
You, my dear, are going to have to change your user name. These los do not look like a beginner! This is such a beautiful page. Love the vertical layering, the darling little bird on a branch, and your stitching is extraordinary!
This is my daughter Chloë, happily posing, one of my girls' favorite pasttimes... lucky me LOL!!! Although I have to say, I love the bottom picture the best ... she didn't know I took that one, I told her to wait for a minute while I was doing something else, so she stopped posing ... and that turned out to be my personal favorite of the shoot!
I made this LO for the October Scraplift the person before you challenge. This LO was inspired by Senora x's "Rash", you can find it here: http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/30767/view/1745465/-1/0/1.html I do also have to mention I was mostly inspired by Julie21566's LO's and gallery, which is wonderful!!! If you haven't checked out her gallery yet ... well, you should!!
Not much mystery about the how-to of this LO: I distressed the papers with my scissors and I added a doily of which I inked the edges red. The title and tree branch were made out of a cereal box and inked with several brown tints. I drew and cut out the bird, and chalked the edges of its body and the entire wings. The flowers were cut out of pattern paper. I then drew leaves on both sides, which I stitched. Actually, the leaves on the left weren't planned, I had to add them to hide a nasty stain, but I think it worked out fine, although it did throw the page a bit out of balance...
