We have indeed created a monster. Picture this. Another hot and sunny day here in Arizona, boys are playing in the backyard and getting red cheeked and sweaty rather quickly. Daddy turns the hose on to spray them down a few times to cool them off. Not a problem. Thought it would be cute to let Jackson have a shot at spraying the hose himself, because after all, Jackson is big time into doing ANYTHING by himself. (a delightful age 2 is) We all laugh because it was really cute. Heck, I even ran to get my camera. And Jackson willingly posed for me, laughing his blissed out little head off. Eventually we had to turn the hose off and then had one doozie of a fit on our hands. (sigh) I don’t know how, but we managed to get him inside, I think the bribe of a string cheese may have done the trick. Fast forward a week. (or so) Connor comes running inside absolutely soaked to tell me that Jack turned on the water and is blasting everything in sight. I go outside because I’m the mom and I can handle a 2 year old with a hose. (right?) I did handle it. But not after getting sprayed a few times by the little demon devil child who laughed the entire time. Jackson has had a taste of power. He who wields the water house can strike fear into the heart of any passerby. We’ve had to resort to making sure the spigot is turned off tightly so that said cackling demon devil child can no longer wreak havoc on unsuspecting dry clothed persons. But you do have to admit. He still is pretty cute, even for a power hungry, independent two year old. Love that kiddo, love that spark that is Jackson. June 22, 2005
