Bryn’s 1st semester of Linn-Mar preschool was over on Halloween costume day. (She was Minnie Mouse and refused to wear the ears.) I had explained to her that her beloved buddies would be replaced by new, just as wonderful buddies when she returned to preschool after a month-long break. She didn’t seem upset to leave her buddies, whom she spoke of often, just upset whenever she saw Mom walk in the room to take her home. Notice her pout in the classroom picture below. That pout was displayed between actual cries of “I don’t want to go!” and “I’m not leaving!” The notes Rachel and Sara sent in the mail were cute. Rachel described Bryn’s obsession of counting and re-counting, and that she can count upwards of 20. They also noted how specific her pretend play is and that she had displayed substantial emotional growth. Bryn sure loves preschool!
