SHCG: Wow, this is a beautifully constructed card. I'll bet that your mom truly treasured it! I love the muted, warm tones that you used. It is lovely!
shcg: wow. if this wasn't a critique, that is all i would say, i can see how this works and it is just beautiful.i would be just thrilled to recieve something as special as this,
SHCG: This card is absolutely beautiful and a gift in itself. It looks complex in construction, too. Maybe the colors show up better irl, but I think the mat needs to be a darker or more olive green, and I can see a yellow ochre ribbon and solid cs strip that is more complementary to the purple. I love the off center, bleeding off the page quality to the stamps.
SHCG: These colors are beautiful!! I am a huge fan of distressing (as you know) so maybe a light gray could have been used on the edges of this one. Just a thought... the flowers are just gorgeous!!
Here is a waterfall card I made last year, been meaning to upload it for a while. NOTE: I did NOT originally design this card, this card was a project in a class led by the excellent & creative Heidi, leader of the New York Scrapbooking & Rubber Stamping of Upper Manhattan Meetup.com group (though I did do some customizations to her basic design). Anyway, I ended up giving this card to my Mom for her birthday this year… I had to coach her long-distance on how to pull the tab & make the card “work” but once it did, my Mom was delighted! TFL :o)
