SHCG: Oh, I wanna get lei'd. *sigh* Anyway, I digress. The tropical theme that you implemented here is fabulous. It makes me want to hop on the first plane to Hawaii and rush to the beach and dip my toes in the water. I love the black and green pieces that you included and they way they draw my eyes to the visual triangle you created. My only suggestion might have been to put the "ART" at the top left because my eyes want it there. Darn eyes. This is fabulous and I am envious that I am not receiving it.
SHCG: It is great to see a summer tropical theme in the dead of winter. LUV the fish swimming by and the sandles. The green rectangles remind me of flags or laundry flapping in the breeze. (The background lines remind me of laundry lines as well as the word "washes" hee hee.) Great font but "Soul" seems a little disconnected or maybe that was intentional.
shcg: the colors are wonderful and bright and the abstractness is very picasso...ish. i love the torn paper used for the quote. it is so neat to see the responces to this bwc. YOURS INCLUDED wonderful work. i think we all came up with some kickin stuff!
SHCG: I like how you used a tropical theme, which I know is important to you. Your trips to the tropics also "wash away the dust of everyday life"! I think you did a great job. :)
shcg: This is great! The quote is up to everyone's independent interpretation, and art is very much so an individual thing. Great product ... get the glue out, though, to tack that stuff on! :)
SHCG: Someone told me once that there is no right or wrong in scrapbooking... I think this is wonderful with all the elements and the fun background paper. Ditto on being too hard on yourself!!!! :-)
SHCG: Again I agree with Sharon. This is great, I just love the tropical feel that's going on with this postcard, I love those flowers and the flipflops are so cute :)
SHCG - Again, you are being way too hard on yourself in the LO thread, there is nothing to be ashamed about here. Your challenge was to express your response to that quote in 23 minutes of scrafting & I LOVE how you decided to go on a tiny tropical island jaunt in your card, & that you took us w/ you! This is fresh, fun & a reason to rejoice. :)
This is for the SHCG BWC #23-Quickie, which was to create a postcard that included the Picasso quote, "Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life," in just 23 minutes. Upon completion, we will stamp and address the postcard and send it to the next person to respond to the challenge.
I finished it on November 20, 2008. I started at 9:48pm and stopped at 10:11pm with a very unfinished product. Nothing is glued down and barely hanging on by those stickers. No time for inking anywhere nor cleaning up any rough edges.
