A bit of background.

My Mother's uncle (my great uncle, I guess), pictured, was hit by a drunk driver a few months ago and was in a coma for weeks. He has been out of the coma for a few weeks and is rehabbing but it's really hard on him AND the family. He has hit the "anger" phase right now and all he wants is to go home (if he even knows what/where home is, of course). He's a very STRONG man and I really believe he has come THIS far, despite ALL THE ODDS because he was in such good physical shape/health to begin with. He doesn't have use of his right arm and his speech is garbled and slurred, etc. Anyway, they are all having a really rough time and my Mom is going down there for the week to help out her aunt Sis (my great aunt), also pictured. They said that pictures are a large part of the therapy to help him with associations, who's related to whom, etc. etc. So, I created this gift for them with the hopes that something might spark. The first pic is how *I* remember them back in the early 70's. That was the last time I saw them before they came back into our lives in the past couple of years. The second pic is the most recent, taken in 2001 or 2002, I think.

SUPPLIES:

Pink paper (Pink Lemonade by Mustard Moon)
Brown vintage paper (Making Memories)
Plain vellum (Unknown)
Wood embellishment (Darice)
Fibers - Copper, Sandstone, Light Rose, Mink and Chocolate (ScrappingWithStyle.com)
Brass "wheel" buttons (Hobby Lobby)
Gold and silver inset squares (Nunn Design)
Black cardstock (Bazzill)
Antique gold photo corners (Accent Factory)
Stazon Ink
Katherine Ann font (TwoPeasInABucket)
Spray Adhesive (Best Test)
Chalk (EK Success)

Printed the older photo on vellum and adhered with spray adhesive for muting the background paper. Chalked the tag just a TAD BIT with some pink chalk to pick up the pink paper.

Quote on the tag reads "The years go by and love grows with each memory we make. -Flavia"

I put it in a shadowbox frame and that REALLY sets it off nicely.
