Wow - just gorgeous! I love how you printed most of the photo in b&w, then printed the main pic in color! I wish I could think of creative things like that!
You did a great job on this! You took so much from the inspiration piece! Wonderful job. I really like the title especially because I'm a bit of a hippie at heart myself!
She looks like loads of fun, I am sure you are going to miss her. This is a great look. I love how you did the background, lots of time consuming little bits...
This LO was created for a Critique Group 4 challenge. The inspiration was a quilt piece.
From that quilt piece I took lots of elements. I think my product still looks somewhat different.
1. Handcut flower - that was of course the part of the LO I noticed first - I did handcut mine and then doodled the black outlines on the petals and the lines and flower in the center 2. Spirals and cross section piece - I pretty much copied these... except for the colors of course 3. the color blue - it was so bright and pretty on the quilt that I wanted some of that here... but I used it more as my focal color obviously 4. the pieced look - I used it on the background and also on the frame around the LO - I borrowed the idea from a forum here which suggested that scraps be used to create a mosaic look. They are first torn, then Xyroned and then placed on a backing and then cut to straighten the look. I inked these after creation because they were too bright. Thanks to whoever pointed the idea out! 5. the painted look of the quilt - I thought that it looked like the pieces in the quilt had been dyed or painted - I decided to use lots of ink to try to create some of that effect here - the flower and matting (for the colored photo are just white paper heavily inked)... the sepia photos are inked, the background pieces are almost all inked
