Neat that you were able to find images of all the patches and medals so that you could include them here. The discharge certificate is a nice touch too. Like that you framed the fact that it was honorable.
AWESOME!!!! I remember seeing my Dad's metals but no one seems to know what happened to them. You did an amazing joib with what you had to work with!!!!
You have done such a wonderful job documenting your fil's WWII experiences!Especially only having the 2 photos to work with!I thoroughly enjoyed looking at these!Don't be surprised if you see a few "lifts" from me!Beautifully done!
This is the 7th (!) and final page of my project about my fil's time in the Navy in the south Pacific during WWII. Along with the 3 medals, he's very proud of having been a Seabee, and the other patch is the 'ruptured duck' which was really an eagle but the sailors nicknamed it the ruptured duck and the name stuck.
Pop lost all of these items, probably in a move but that list was on the back of his Honorable Discharge so I looked each one up on the Internet, and photographed it. Cut out each one from the photo and laid them on a piece of velvet - same with the patches. BTW you CAN have medals awarded replaced I found out - there's a place in St Louis that will do that - gotta love the Internet!
