This LO was done for the Febuly Challenge Week 9 - Love/Hate Relationships: This relationship does not have to be of a romantic nature. It can be where a person may love an object, but hate oneself for it. The LO must have 2 dominating colors throughout, and it must have the words LOVE and HATE prominently on the page. I decided to use my car -- that's me washing it this Memorial Day weekend.

Journaling: I've had my Prius for two years now, and there are things I do love about it, like getting 50-plus mpg, my nav system, the Bluetooth, going 500 miles before I have to stop for gas, being able to listen to my mp3 player, and the satisfaction of knowing I'm helping the environment -- especially as I sit in the line of Suburbans at Cassie's school. Cassie loves that I drive the same car as Miley Cyrus (minus the Hello Kitty, of course)! BUT, as time goes on, there are even more things that I hate. It slips when turning on perfectly dry pavement, and it has terrible headlights. It takes me 3 trips to get everything up north that I need for the whole summer. It doesn't have a sunroof or heated seats, and it's a blah color. I miss the treatment you get at a luxury dealership, and I miss driving something with real horsepower. It isn't easy being green!

I used the sketch for Weekly Old Pagemaps #4 - Week 4 rotated 90 degrees clockwise.

It's also for Use Your Supplies - Week 2: Chipboard. The tag, heart, circle, flower, and ampersand are chipboard.

This may also be my entry for the ABC Challenge - TUV Round, although I'd like to try and get another one done before the deadline. T - Time: the word in the title, journaling, or a quote OR a clock on the LO - I have the word time in my journaling. U - Underneath: at least 2 papers under at least one photo - I have 2 layers of yellow and 1 of the yellow print under the photos. V - Vellum: my journaling is printed on vellum.

Maybe some others as well :)

I tried a couple new (to me) things here. I covered the blank chipboard tag w/ the yellow pp, stamped the 'go green' image, and used watercolor pencils to shade in the green. (Thanks to KellyCali for the chipboard shapes and the 'go green' stamp she sent me in a RAK!!) I love how it turned out. Another thing I tried for the first time was heat embossing the whole ampersand. I love the way it looks, but if anyone can give me any tips for future reference, I'd appreciate it -- I don't know if not enough powder stuck to the ink or if I didn't heat it long enough (or too long), but it's not a solid look. It has little bumps in it.

TFL!!
