On the left page: The Apollo Room
journalling: "This was the location of the throne room. At one time fabulously embroidered tapestries hung on the walls, today great portrait of Louis (XIV) and his grandson stand in attendance in the room where so many events took place. / Apollo rides his chariot across the ceiling as he drags the sun across the Heavens while the seasons accompany him."
On the Right page: Salon de la Guerre ~ The War Room
journalling: "The room is a tribute to military victories / On the ceiling: "France in arms sitting on a cloud surrounded by Victories" notice that Louis' portrait is on her shield. The painting in the arches are dipictions of other countries in defeat to France. / Stucco relief of Louis on horseback surmounted by two gilded figures of Fame."
