After inking all the papers and matting the photos it took a little while to decide how I wanted to arrange everything. I did a rough draft for my journaling and I knew I'd need a pretty big place for it, but I really wanted a hidden journal tag - so the large K&Co. tag came in handy to make a pocket for the actual journal spot.
I'm entering this in the Monochrome challenge and the twist is to use birds on the page which was perfect for this because one of Mac's favorite things to do was to sit in the window and chitter when he'd see the birds outside. (The caption under his big photo pretty much says that.)
Journaling:
One day the local animal shelter was having a pet adoption day at the mall. They had this tiny grey tabby and I fell in love with him instantly.
Having had cats before I knew that they are an independent species, but Mac seemed almost anti-social. He didn't like to be held or sit on laps and he rarely interacted with anyone. He always seemed to have a displeased look about him. But every once in a while he would sit by me and let me pet him and he'd purr very loudly.
He was such an unusual and unique character, I cherished every tender time we spent together.
When I had to move I couldn't take him with me so a friend took ownership of him.
It broke my heart to leave him behind.
I miss him so very much.
