The sides are grid stamped and then filled in with chalk. The queen card is a packing tape transfer with patterned paper strips behind it. The PP strip on the upper right was made using a batik melting crayon techinique, stamping damasks with the hot crayon, then emphasizing the lines with a gel pen, I then stamped a grid on top of it and inked it. The circles are punched from glitter cardstock, with a printed transparency in the middle and some green microbeads in there too. The letters "PSI U" are cut from felt which I always back with iron on transfer for stability and adhering. I put eyelets on them and stitched around the edges. The fonts are downloaded from DaFont.com. I think that is it..Oh, this is from one of "Becky's Sketches" from Creating Keepsakes. There is hidden jouranling on the back. I will put it in tomorrow. It is on my other computer.
Putting the colors for this together really plagued me, but I don't think it turned out too bad.
Here is the journaling:
What can I say about my time at Psi U?
I was a little sister for about 2 years. I originally just wanted to make friends. When I saw the ads for the "heavy metal fraternity" I knew it was for me. Pledging was crazy. Lots of memorization and errand running. I lived for the day I would get to haze on the next class, and that I did. I actually got a bit carried away at times, but my favorite was the hell night beauty salon. We had a pledge class full of pretty girls. I blindfolded them and had them sit in the dentist chair. Then I used real mud masking, pickle juice in the hair, and egg cracking by their fellow pledge class members right over their head. It was a blast. Unfortunately all the partying took a toll on my grades, but I did eventually become a nurse, so I guess it is ok. Another highlight was the little sister's Love Fry party. We had shirts done and everything. We loved that band and danced the night away. Yes there was alot of drinking, but that was Penn State you have to understand. We had pig roasts, and so many parties it was crazy. The bad part was that my roommate had bad taste in men and dated a brother, Bob White. He was a real weird guy, always doing something disgusting and fussing about himself. He go so annoying we couldn't stand him. One day at the Ponderosa, he actually wiped his butt with a wad of napkins and pulled out a wad of crap. Right at the table! That was Bob. He snorted all the time like he was on coke. Kim suffered so much with him, they would always be on the phone and she would cry. I am a very loyal friend, and one that shouldn't have these concerns when I drink. One night I got very mad and went to confront Bob. It turned into a very ugly scene with my then boyfriend getting involved and the cops being called. After that, I was what they called "blackballed". This was good though because the fraternity was doing serious damage to my relationship. I didn't need those people to have friends. They were a negative influence and I never got into such trouble or got such bad grades after I left. But I look back and remember some fun time and still have some of those friends. If nothing else, It was an experience!
