Since our SUV was totalled, we have a hard time getting the tree home. The first year without it, my parents came to put our tree on their truck. Last year, we used Hertz points to get a free rental SUV to bring it home -- the guy did a bad job fastening it down, and the thing fell off half way home. What a debacle that was! Cassie screaming about her tree, me up to my ankles in mud on the side of the road, my husband dragging it out of the street as cars whizzed by. Good grief. Thank God for a good Samaritan who stopped to help and gave us her extra tie down straps. This year, we put it IN my Prius and drove home with the hatch open. Having the tree in the netting was USEFUL for getting it to fit in the car with the three of us.
