SHCG: Love the simplicity to this, the chalky look to the flowers and flourishes, the inking over the textured title strip secured by brads that add a teeny pop of color, and the understated title font. Great candid shots and fall color scheme. No suggestions here.
SHCG: ahhh Thanksgiving day 2006 I remember it well. LUV your straightforward layout with a little splash of pattern paper in the background. I just can't help but feel sorry for the poor guy in the red shirt that lost his head. :(
SHCG: Yes, I have to agree with Marlene. Your pictures are the main focus of this page...your beautiful smile was the first thing I noticed after the page loaded. In addition your choice of colors used on this page looks so much like Thanksgiving. Perfect choice. My thoughts on this page would be to put a green photo mat, the same color as the swirls, right behind your pictures. I think it would give some dimension between the tan colors in your pictures and the yellow color of your background paper.
SHCG: Great use of fall colors for the LO's. The pictures are great and deserve to be the focal point. The distressing/inking on the photos add a lot to this LO. Was the title pre-inked? It is perfectly done. I am glad you didn't add more swirls to this as I think it might take away from the fun in the pictures. Great job Sharon
Pretty standard 2-pager from me re: Thanksgiving Day in '06; we were meeting my family at my sister's in MN. Kinda freaked me out how simply/quickly this came together but that's what I was feeling for this one & I'm satisfied w/ that! I love meeting up w/ my out-of-state family for the holidays.
The scan chops off the side as usual. There's more of a left margin IRL than shown here. The pp was already swirled, I started to stamp more swirls but realized I only really wanted that 1 additional stamp.
"Thurs Nov. 23, 2006 – Happy Thanksgiving! Woke up early to breakfast w/ Mom & Dad, most eventually joined us. Then cooking & stuff - Mom started her lasagna & I offered to sous-chef Sarah as she prepared bread & apple pie (more involved than I anticipated but really fulfilling). Shirley made some tasty grilled veggies w/ pesto for a snack as the big meal was scheduled for 3PM. Out of the kitchen, had tons o’ fun playing Uno w/ the kids & hanging out! Later, I made the “mystery grain”; I was surprising Greg by making one of his fave childhood dishes “farfel” (actually not really farfel, it’s pearl barley in onion sauce but the family called it that, I secretly got the recipe from Shelly). Charlie showed up before the meal, Jon had told him half the fun was in the preparations! Overall holiday fun - scrapbook sharing (mine as well as Sally’s & Sarah’s ’06 vacay books impressed), karaoke, game playing, music, etc. Then the feast! Greg was touched & really got a kick outta the surprise farfel. Everything was wonderful – corn casserole by Jon, Shirley’s pesto salad dressing, Mom’s lasagna (a superfave of mine for years!), my farfel, Sally’s cranberry sauce, Sarah’s bread, Sally’s fish, etc! Yumm… Afterwards..."
(journaling continues to next LO re: karaoke, LOL).
