This is awesome. What a great card and gift. You stitched that yourself? Whoa baby! You are a woman of many talents!!!! I love that the skull worked for a tennis card. That is awesome by itself.
SHCG: This is just FANTASTIC. The racquet is to die for. The scorcard, ball and net are just perfect. Great way to use up that grass PP. I hate to admit but I have some of it too, Super way to incorporate the date.
SHCG: Brenda this card is so super cool. First it is incredibly creative as you could have just make a cutesy valentime card and put the tickets in, but you put a whole new spin on valentine cards. Way cool. I can see why your husband loved it. The fact that you made your tennis racket is also amazing and the net - everything is fantastic!!
SHCG: Holy smokes Brenda, this is awesome!!!! That racket is fab, all the effort was worth it. Love the net, the score tally! It's so great to see your awesome work again :)
SHCG: I "love" this card! The tennis racket is fantastic with all the details in the racket and handle. All the little personal touches add so much to this card. I agree with Sharon about it actually housing the actual tickets. Great job!
SHCG - Woohoo, the months of waiting have ended - super to see you posting works again, Brenda! This ROCKS, girlfriend. Way clever creation of that raquet, the sewing & ribbon-wrapped handle look perfect. The stash grass pp & tennis ball are excellent. And fab that this housed actual tix. Terrific card!
SHCG: AMAZING! I L.O.V.E. it! The racquet is so cool-love the skull detail! I love the fact that you made it yourself instead of getting one from the store-so perfect and personal touch! Love the net and the ball! I think you can add a few more balls-the yellow stands out the my eye is drawn to the ball first.Very nice that you used old stash here!
This is the Valentine I made for my schrubby which included tickets to the SAP Open Finals where we got to cheer on Andy Roddick. My schrubby joined a few tennis leagues at our gym this year, and has become quite an avid player. The card and gift are just two ways I show my support. His enthusiasm is so infectious that I may even find myself spending more time on the court.
I actually hand cut and hand sewed the racquet, which took several tries, and wrapped the handle in black ribbon. The tiny skull, a Secret Santa gift from former SHizzta, Queen Pinky, actually mimics the dampener on my schrubby's racquet. He was so pleased by the detail of this card, although I feel it could be much better.
The mesh is from Dirty Rotten Scrapper, eon's momma.
The grass pp is over a decade old from Paper Pizazz, so is the tennis ball sticker. The rest of the court lines and score are done in white gel pen.
As for the wonky placement, I thought it was the scan, then I realized just how crookedly I glued everything down. Ah, well...
