Next we went to the Cashew factory. We were surprised to find no machines at work – all the cashews were shelled by hand at 5 different work stations. Bill tasted a lot of different flavored cashews and bought a package. He bought me some honey dried pineapple which was the best I've ever tasted in my life! Two of the ladies who worked there kept telling me I had beautiful hair and beautiful skin; we giggled and laughed and by the time we left they told me I was their new American girlfriend!
When people in Thailand say “thank you” they always fold their hands together and nod or bow slightly. We walked past a McDonalds and Ronald had his hands folded to say thank you so we thought this would be a good photo op. I even practiced saying “Thank You” in Thai but I don't remember the words now.
Then we walked to the beach past little tourist shops and bought a Thailand t-shirt for me, a Hard Rock Café t-shirt for Joe, and a Glock t-shirt for John.
Next we walked along the beach and tried to find someone who would rent a wave-runner to Marc for 15 minutes. All the minimums were 30 minutes and we had to return to the ship in less than 30 minutes.
This was one of the prettiest ports I've ever visited – very clean with pretty beaches and prices seemed to be reasonable. The people were awesome.
