PRICELESS! You should display this for the Halloween Season! It is the perfect memory deco! Love the Scary but CUTE PiC! Awesome layering and embels & scary paper! So cool! Halloween is my favorite to scrap!
I remember the treats in the 50s..same thing...some folks let you in their house and you picked out your own candy apple or popcorn ball. Sad those days are gone..we were lucky in many ways to be raised in those more innocent days. Your layout is wonderful and love the photo and the costumes. One thing hasn't changed..it's all about the loot..I used that once for layout theme too.
Oh my goodness, this is FANTASTIC. Straight to faves. What an awesome photo. I love all the details you provided about their costumes and their loot! I could stare at that pic all day. Your page is perfect. Love all the embellies and how you clustered them. Well, I just love it all! Wonderful work.
You really truly did succeed with this lo - you did a fantastic job Jen! I love the ink splats and the title is inspired. Love the journalling too - fave!
Ahhhhhhhh......you have definitely done this photo justice. What a tremendous KODAK MOMENT! These were precious times that unfortunately will never be experienced by our younger "NOW" generation. They have missed so much.
Nicely done!
Just logged on and found your lo FEATURED, Jen!! And I know why!! It's sooo WONDERFUL! So glad you scrapped this precious photo too. I remember getting those homemade goodies in my loot bag "once upon a time". Popcorn balls were the best! FABULOUS desing....love the "outdoor" elements, tree and fence. Beautiful combo of pps....and sooo clever to create your own too! Very pretty pleated orange sheer ribbon! I agree wtih you...that TH flower die is AWESOME! this Halloween page is HOWLING into my FAVES!!
Just can't say enough about this layout! The picture is precious and I love the details! I love what you did with the orange ribbon and the layering looks fantastic! A fave!
wow,Jen-what a wonderful photo this is! I love the way you've scrapped it and the sentiments you've shared...it was a different time for sure. Even by the time I was little in the 60's and early 70's, there had been incidents and people were cautious;so sad. I wish my folks had taken photos at Halloween back then...love your trees and fence and all the cool details you've added here!
Fantastic Halloween page!!!! You are so right, what a wonderful vintage photo!!!!!! You did such a wonderful job! I love that jagged edge border you made and the title is so cute!!! Love it all and a FAV!

journaling "1948 Halloween photo of my husband & siblings with their LOOT after Trick & Treating! Taken in Chicago from their front porch. Rolene,10, as a gypsy, Rolland,5, as a cowboy, & Ruth,5, as a clown. Items in bags included popcorn balls, cookies, & carmel apples-lots of homemade treats! Neighbors actually made treats for the children. Imagine!" I have loved this photo and am so happy to finally scrap it. It was a different time. TFL!!
