This is a photograph of a seldom seen event for my summer of 2011. We've had less than an inch of rain since April, and while the clouds build and build, they either drop rain to the west of us and carry it north, or they wait until they pass over us and let the life giving rain fall to our east. Coupled with over two months in a row of 100 degree plus temperatures, the lack of moisture from heaven is killing everything in its path.

It's been a real test of my faith this summer, watching the rain fall at what appears to be everywhere but here. I'm learning a lot of lessons in patience, hope, faith, dependence. I refuse to give up hope. The laws of averages are on my side. Eventually ... EVENTUALLY ... it WILL rain. I just hope that I still have 200 year oak trees when it does.

The paper line is Kaisercraft. The Journaling is from the Book of Psalms. The sketch is an old one from Jenny Bonner. The flower is from a tutorial on Natasha's Moments of Tranquility blog.

I actually DID this project for the July monochrome and didn't get it photographed in time to count it. I decided to use it for on of my September LSS teaching projects. I have some silver leaves that I'll add to the flower when I bring it home from the shop.

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my project. If, in your nightly prayers to the God of the Universe, you remember to think of it - would you mind asking him to send a rain shower my way? I'd really appreciate it!
