Joni was hosting an elaborate affair as a part of Dr. DiGioia’s “CAOS” (Computer-assisted Orthopaedic Surgery) Conference at Shadyside Hospital. What a great friend to invite me to tag along for help in drinking the Champagne! I think Laurel worked this event, but she was always kind enough to invite Joni & I to the fun events during the conferences that she hosted. The three of us always have a blast whenever and wherever we are! We were infamous for getting together to spend all the “perks” these conferences provided. This reception at “The Grand Concourse” must have cost Dr. DiGioia a pretty penny, but the 3 of us were the ones to receive the complimentary gift certificates for spending so much money there! We toasted Dr. DiGioia with our bottles of champagne when we went back to use the (hundreds of dollars!!! of) gift certificates. After all, they worked their butts off and deserved it! Me…well, I’m very thankful to have such great friends! ;-)
