I know that I categorized this under pets and animals but my son's stuffed dogs are definitely like pets to him! :)
Journaling reads:
"Your oversized dog was to be a gift for you when we graduated you to your big boy room (we chose a dog theme for you). However, when you broke your leg, Mommy decided you needed a “boo-boo” present and I gave you “Truffle Dog.” You have given him so much love since then, that he looks like an old friend already. You hug him and squeal with delight and you also share your sippy cup with him. You’ve also developed an affection for the smaller dog and I often see you carrying them both around together. I guess that you’ve started to pick favorites and these two stuffed animals are the objects of your affection right now. I think they give you a sense of security and I love to see you so happy. They are familiar and special to you, just like old friends."
