Thursday, November 10th, 2011 – a nice relaxing sea day. We came in 3rd place in both the 12:00 noon and the 3PM trivia.
After lunch I went to Jan's (Dr. Janet Beckmann's) cabin to show her pictures from the Royal Caribbean cruise through the Suez Canal so she could pick out any she would like to have. We looked at photos (and our wedding video) on my computer until the phone rang at 7:45PM – it was Bill to let us know the Lido was closing in 15 minutes so if we didn't leave very quickly we wouldn't get any dinner.
Bill had commented earlier in the day that he wanted a red poppy flower to wear for Veteran's Day tomorrow.
What a very pleasant surprise when we got to our cabin after dinner to find a cloisonné poppy lapel pin for each of us – just what we wanted for Veteran's Day tomorrow and they will last forever!
The card left on our bed next to our pins said, “Created especially for you this commemorative Poppy Lapel Pin honors and thanks all who serve in the Armed Forces, service Veterans, support organizations and civilians alike.
May this remind us of their dedication to the cause of world peace and reflects on the sacrifice that Veterans have made to service to their country.
Wear the Poppy Lapel Pin tomorrow, November 11, in remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure freedom and peace.”
