This is the crow we are helping until his sprained wing heals. See the feathers sticking through the back cage...that is actually from his left wing, he holds it at an awkward angle. I was keeping him in a dog kennel but it was not big enough for him to really stretch out so I went looking for bird cages. I had no idea they were so expensive! There was one that was half the size of the one in the inset photo and it was $600 and that was used! So when I saw another used one later on that was $100 I figured the resale value was great and it was big enough for the crow to live in for a couple weeks. I did have to drive an hour to pick it up but it was worth it. Now he resides in the living room. Interesting note: unlike other birds crows do not use their beak to pull themselves up so I needed to make sure there were perches set up so he could hop up and down in his new cage. He is molting so is not as handsome as he could be but he has personality. I let him out yesterday and he managed to hop over to a large candle I have in front of a big mirror. He stood on the candle so long he left his bird foot prints in it and he pecked at his reflection for the longest time. Whenever I talk to him he tilts his head and blinks at me. I`ll miss him when he goes but I won`t miss the cleaning....birds make such a mess! TFL
