This is a photo from October 2009. It was my Photo of the Day for the 17th. It's a shot of a rose on my Gemini bush at the end of the season.

This is an example for my April Four Categories Challenge - Category Three ~ Technique: Recycling. The challenge is to use something on a page that is not a traditional scrapbook supply. I used packaging from a Prima item as a photo mat, a tag from a Lucky Brand clothing item, a scrap piece of twine from another clothing purchase, a ribbon bow cut off of an old baby outfit, and double sided brown/silver ribbon given to me on a wrapped package. I also used a scrap of fabric - the pink layer behind the photo (it's actually metallic pink, like sequins kinda, not the black polka dots it looks like in the photo). The twist is to use scraps - everything here is a scrap or from an open package except the bg cs.

This is my entry for:
1) April Monthly Sketch Challenge Week 1 with the twist to use all scraps or open packages except for the bg.

2) April Sewing Challenge - I zigzag machine stitched with pink thread around the pink fabric, and I did a few hand stitches with white floss to tack down the green cardboard mat. I did the twist to include 3+ fibers on the LO in addition to the stitching - I used pink fiber and green fiber in the banner and a scrap of twine in the tag.

3) VLB Challenge - Flower Power.
