The Cruise Critic group from the cruise met a charming restaurant called “Cochon Dingue” which means Crazy Pig. Bill and I shared a rack of maple ribs and I think they may have been the best ribs I've ever had in my life! It was also nice to get to know about two dozen of our cruise mates who would also be boarding the Emerald Princess tomorrow.

Friday, October 26, 2012 – We slept in a little later than usual in our hotel room then boarded the Emerald Princess and settled in our cabin.

There was an empty Pepsi machine at the port. Bill could not resist climbing into it for a picture.

This is the first time we've ever gone on a cruise where we boarded but stayed in port another day. After getting our sea passes and eating lunch on the ship we went back into Quebec City.

After walking around for awhile we returned to the ship to eat dinner in the dining room. We had prime rib on the ship for dinner but I could only eat 2 bites and Bill ate less than half of his. The toughest prime rib we've ever been served. Very sad because it looked wonderful but was too tough to eat.

That night an announcement was made which didn't please us at all but the Captain and the cruise line had no other choice. Hurricane Sandy was quickly approaching the east coast of Florida and was expected to continue north creating mass havoc along the upper east coast from Massachusetts to Maine.

The hurricane was turning into a monster and since the worst of it was expected to hit the upper east coast around Halloween it was being referred to Frankenstorm. Our visits to Bar Harbor, Boston and Brooklyn were most likely going to be cancelled, and in reality, we may have to miss all those ports. Instead we would be spending more time in the St. Laurence Seaway with two new added ports – Saguenay and Corner Brook in Newfoundland, Canada. We were told we would get new changes to the itinerary as the decisions were made.
