This is the youngest cowboy to compete this year. He isn't quite two. I could just eat him up. He swaggered out to rope the dummy, then heard the crowd and looked up to about 500 people in the stands and stared crying. Awww.

These shots are from the youth rodeo at the 88th annual White Mountain Apache Tribal Fair and Rodeo. The first rodeo is the youth rodeo and it's the only one I have the stomach for.
The events are roping( a dummy bull), the stick horse barrel race, run and tap a goats behind (I'm not sure why), For the slightly older children there is mutton bustin', and calf catching, the oldest children barrel race and calf rope. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the barrel races, the children in our crew were done before the rodeo was.
