just last week, i moved my scrap room from the upstairs loft, to the downstairs bedroom. i had been upstairs for the past 3 years. but how i scrap and what i scrap for has changed so much in the last few years. and i need to have more access to my stuff. i spend 10 hours a day downstairs with the daycare kids … so it makes sense to have my stuff all downstairs.pics 1 & 2 - view as you walk in the door. i basically have room for my two large expedit shelves and a decent sized desk. a big change from what i had before. pic 3 - this shelf is to the right, when i'm sitting at the desk. it holds all my pattern paper (vertical storage), cardstock (horizontal storage), idea books, paper scraps, baskets of other paper type products, and some red bins of alterable items and things i don't use that much.pics 4 & 5 - looking towards the corner of the room. i have an expedit shelf on one wall, and the other shelf on the wall next to it. so the other one is in front of me as i'm sitting at the desk. pic 6 - looking to side of the shelf, is the door going out to the playroom area. you can see my old scrap island out there, which is also where i do a lot of my work.pic 7 - another shot of the second expedit shelf. the top row has some jars of embellishments. i put a storage box in the back of each, so that i could prop a few jars higher up. the other 4 rows of shelves have baskets, all filled with embellishments, chipboard, letter stickers, rubons, etc. most of my stuff is all stored by manufacturer. but some of it is my product type too. i work both ways.pic 8 - to the left of my desk is the closet. i havn't had a closet for years, so it's nice to be able to tuck some things away. i had these storage towers in the closet, so i cleared out 2 of them to put my scrapping stuff in. it's mostly stuff that i use, but not enough to keep out in the open all the time. extra adhesives, stamps, embossing supplies, inks, punches, die cut machines and accessories, paints, etc. the other side of the closet is still waiting to be cleaned out … mostly my girls stuff.pic 9 - my desk. i have my two MM carousel's up there. one holds my most used tools, and the other has a lot of newer items that i want to remember to use, and also things that i use a lot. i have my MM embellishment box, that is filled to the brim with just brads. a few baskets down below. havn't gotten that totally organized yet.pic 10 - this is my scrap island that was upstairs. this used to hold all scrap stuff. but i moved it down to the playroom (which is really our living room and dining room area). i'm using one side to store baskets of toys for the daycare kids, and the back side is a nice hiding spot for my girls backpacks, their soccer bags, instruments, etc. it's right off the scrap room, so i can easily work out here when i need to spread out.
