Well, it feels like this is the first layout I've done in weeks that wasn't the result of a challenge! I was worried I couldn't do a layout anymore without some kind of inspiration in front of me! Plus it's a two-pager…something else I haven't done in awhile. Scan cut off edges a bit and the right page scanned funky because of the thick ribbon - there is an even border all the way around…Anywhoo, journaling reads:

This picture was taken the last day we were in Michigan, July 7th, 2003. From my appearance, it is painfully obvious that it wasn’t meant to be a framed masterpiece above our fireplace in it’s final state! I just had Lindsay take a couple of pictures of the three of us together to finish off the last disk in the camera (the 15th I had filled during our 10 day trip!) and to see how the painter’s drop cloth looked in a black and white photo so I could decide if I wanted to buy one. I really hadn’t though much about these last few pictures and was just about to delete them from the computer when I stopped and took a closer look. It struck me that we have so few pictures of the three of us together (we really need to have one framed above our fireplace!) And besides that, I love the memories this picture stirs and the relationships it depicts. We had such a wonderful time in Michigan…especially once papa was able to join us! It was a joy to share you with all of your Michigan relatives for the first time. You were such a social little guy! It hardly took any time at all for you to warm up to everyone - as overwhelming as it must have felt to you to be meeting so many new faces! Plus, I feel like this picture really epitomizes our close, loving relationship. I think anyone who saw at this picture would see the same thing. I suppose this is what you would call a happy accident! So glad I chose to take one more look before I hit the delete button!August 25, 2003
.
