I'm slowly but surely working my way through this year's photos in a monthly PL format. For February, I decided to use Photo Freedom's Today's Story Collection by Allison Kreft because I adore the “love” 3x4 card and the color scheme. My favorite thing in scrapbook design is mixing patterns and using bright colors so I am working my style into my PL. I pulled in some items from a variety of lines but kept to the color scheme of the collection. For my title card, I cut a strip from a piece of Scenic Route grid paper, used some tall black chipboard Thickers and a bit of washi and a heart. I found a Jenni Bowlin tag that matched my color scheme and some little bits and bobs to add. Each month, I'm adding in inserts with enlargements and extra photos. It's hard to do an overview of a month with just a two page spread so I'm giving myself as many inserts as I need. On picture 14, you'll see that I added a 5x7 pic of my husband and daughter, backed by a family pic of us. Then I have a 6x12 insert where I made a little back to back page about an event and then an additional insert with the Valentine my husband gave me, backed by a little page with a pic. I love that I now have a place for just my very favorite cards. I can pull this out in years to come and see what he wrote to me. I always type my journaling, using Microsoft Word and try to include enough info that gives you an idea of what we had going on but not so much that it would be boring to sit and read it all! Thanks for looking!
