Journalling reads: When I was little we used to go to Birmingham on the train several times a year. Back then, I remember it as being very ugly. The old buildings were blackened with soot from the coal fires; the canal/river was filled with garbage and stank; many of the factory buildings were decayed and neglected; blocks of boxlike offices and tenements had been hurriedly built after the war. On a recent visit, it was an incredibly pleasant surprise to find downtown Birmingham has been beautifully restored and redeveloped. Pedestrian thoroughfares run through the core; the canal has been dredged and cleaned and attractive flats built in the area; while the elegant old Victorian buildings have been stripped of their sooty coats and a fabulous new concert hall and convention centre have recently been built. Birmingham has been revitalized!!All papers are Chatterbox, font on the twill tape and journalling is Chisel. Sorry about the slightly crooked scan on page 1 - TFL!!
