This is a locket that was given to me by my first boyfriend. The smaller picture is of the open locket, showing the photos of us inside.

Journaling behind photo reads:
Young love was so much fun, Jesse and I celebrated our anniversary every month. On our first month anniversary I had a rehearsal for Lady of the Lake after school, then Jesse picked me up and we went out for dinner at Romeo's in Duncan. We sat down and ordered out dinner, then Jesse said he had forgotten his wallet in the car and would be right back. I didn't think anything of it, even when he came back with his hands behind his back. He sat back down across from me and I heard a crinkling noise as he pulled his hands our from behind him and grabbed mine. We sat there for a few minutes, holding hands and talking, and then he said he had something for me. My heart skipped a beat or two as he pulled out a little present from behind him and handed it to me. My hands were shaking as I unwrapped it. It was jewelry box, I couldn't believe it! I was so nervous as I opened it, and I swear I must have had the dopiest grin on my face, I could barely contain myself. I opened up the box and inside was a beautiful gold locket, with the tiniest little diamond in the centre. I was shocked and didn't know what to say, other than thank you and I love you. Jesse got up and came around behind me to put it on for me. A few days later I went to WalMart to see if they could make photos small enough to go inside it and they said they couldn't, so I went home, found a picture I had of the two of us, cut our faces out of it, and put them inside the locket. I never took it off until we broke up, except once. I woke up one morning and was changing out of my nightgown. As I lifted it over my head a loose thred got caught on the chain and it was so delicate that it broke and fell to the floor. I was practically in tears as I called Jesse to tell him what I had done. He told me not to worry about it, and the next time he came to see me he brought me a chain that his dad had given to him, so that I could still wear the locket. I still keep it in the same box that he gave it to me in, with the original chain in a little bag in the same box, with our photos still inside it.
