What It Means To Have A Girl

Before I had you, I didn’t really know what it would be like to have a girl. I was so used to having a boy, the thought of having to figure out what to do with a girl seemed daunting to me. Now that you are here, however, I am looking forward to finding out what you are all about! Perhaps we’ll get to watch “Disney’s Princesses” dvds; then again, maybe we’ll stick with “Monsters Inc” and “Cars.” Or maybe we’ll play with dolls and Little Ponies; if cars and music are more your thing, though, that’ll be perfect too! Perhaps we’ll go shopping together for shoes and purses! That would be fun! On the other hand, if you prefer spending your Saturdays playing street hockey, I’ll understand! I’m not sure what it’ll be like when you grow up; all I know is what it means to have a girl, right now, who is 3 months old:-it means I get to dress you up in pink (which I do most days) and skirts (which I have yet to do);-it means I get to have your ears pierced (I am waiting until you are 4 months old);-it means I get to indulge in girlie scrapbooking supplies;-it means I get to fix your hair up (it’s not long enough yet, but soon!);-it means I’m not the only one in a house full of men anymore!
