My grandparent's wedding photo and a (small) copy of their invitation to the wedding.

Journaling: In October 1953 my grandparents had their church marriage. They already got married in a civil ceremony in January 1953, but shortly afterwards my grandma's grandpa died. So they wanted to wait with the big celebration and that's also the reason why my grandma is wearing a dark wedding dress.I love this photo, I love the memories my grandpa has told me about their first meeting. It's been in September 1951 on a festival in Stuttgart (Germany). Actually my grandpa first meet my grandma's dad who was a very conversable man. My grandma sat at his side and my grandpa told me that he always had to look at her, because she was so beautiful. Unfortunately the first sentence he said to her was: “Frollein, gucket se net so tief ins Gläsle.”, which means: “Young lady, don't drink too much.”, but spoken in broad Swabian dialect. He was so shy to start the a dialog, and I can imagine his expression when he recognized that he hasn't been very charming with this sentence. But he told me from this moment on, he immediately knew that she will be the love of his life. And she still is. Though they had a ton of hard times during their lifetime and though my grandma is very ill nowadays, he is still standing next to her and loves her more than anything else. And the rare moments, when he still takes her hand and whispers to her: “Mein kleines Heckerösle.”, which means: “My little wild rose.” make me cry everytime.

Supplies: Prima, My Mind's Eye, 7gypsies, Scenic Route, Bazzill

Thanks so much for looking, this layout means a lot to me. :)
