Bazzill cardstock, MM patterned paper and brads, MMBI and Sonnets letter stickers. Thanks for looking! Journaling reads: While we were turning Annamarie’s nursery into a “big girl room,” we made a trip to JCPenney to look for some sheets for her new bed. One of the display beds was decorated with round, smiley face pillows. Annamarie, who was just starting to put more than one word together, grabbed one of the green pillows and shouted, “Take happy home!” We just couldn’t resist, and Happy joined our family. He quickly became Annamarie’s security object, and we added a nightly search for Happy to our bedtime routine.Several weeks later, Mom was out of town and Dad took the kids to the mall playland. Annamarie broke away and ran into JCPenney, looking for “More happy.” Dad caved and bought her a pink pillow, and the original Happy became Green Happy. Each night, at the very last minute before we tuck her in, Annamarie insists that we find her ‘Ink Happy and ‘Een Happy. They take turns being her favorite.Pink Happy and Green Happy don’t get to rest quietly on the big girl bed during the day. Annamarie carries them around the house, throws them in the air delightedly, puts them on the heads of other family members, sets them on the window sill and runs outside to see them smiling at her. She gives them sips from her drinks, puts hats and makeup on them (necessitating a bath in the washing machine), and even lets them wear her precious sunglasses (difficult to do when one has no ears). Pink Happy and Green Happy naturally travel with us, and this summer we had to make a one-hour detour back to a hotel in Florida when Green Happy got left behind. Each time Annamarie comes across one of her Happy pillows lying on the floor, she gives it a big squeezy hug and squeals, “Happy here!” I guess we’ll never know just what it is about Happy that attracted her, but if Annamarie’s happy, we’re happy.
