Having a brother living in Japan and a friend in Hong Kong, it was no surprise getting some typical Asian clothing for our newborn son! He got a jinbei from Japan and a pajama from China. Of course he looked cute into those clothes too big for him, but the reason I really wanted to scrapbook those pics is to conceal what our friend from Hong Kong told us about Etienne's age if he was Chinese: our then 2 months old in December 2002 would be 2 years old on January 31, 2003! Chineses count the 9 months pregnancy as a year of life, and since the new chinese year would begin on Jan. 31, Etienne would turn 2 years old on that day! Quite interesting! For this layout I scraplifted one by Pelouzze, and created my own asian paper by printing several time on paper a picture of chinese calligraphy I found on the internet. I just hope it doesn't say something bad… I also cut the chinese symbo for Horse, my son's chinese zodiac sign. I add two pictures of Étienne wearing the same clothes today!
